Host

File sharing with private uploads, moderation, and stable public links.

Interface captures

Host is a file-sharing workspace for images, videos, and PDFs. Files start private and pass through content checks before they can receive public links. The account area keeps upload history and file controls together, while scoped API keys support programmatic access.

01

Private first, public after review

The upload workflow keeps new files private until moderation clears them. Statuses distinguish pending, approved, rejected, and manual review, and the account area lets users inspect upload history or remove files.

  • Image, video, and PDF uploads
  • Content-policy checks before public delivery
  • Visible moderation and review states
  • Account history and deletion controls
02

Stable links and scoped automation

Approved files receive app-level public URLs. API keys can be limited by operation, and replacing a file’s content can preserve its existing link so downstream embeds do not need to change.

  • Separate upload, list, read, replace, and delete scopes
  • Stable public URLs instead of raw storage addresses
  • Replace-by-ID and replace-by-name endpoints
  • Rate limits for read, write, and authentication traffic

What I built, decided, traded, and learned.

What I built

A web upload workspace, private file lifecycle, moderation-aware public delivery, account history, and a scoped developer API.

Key decisions

Make public sharing an explicit approved state, and keep storage URLs behind a stable app-level link.

Trade-offs

The moderation path adds a wait before sharing. It also makes the file lifecycle clearer and gives public delivery a content-policy checkpoint.

Outcomes

People can upload through the UI or API, track review state, and share approved files through stable links.
